Second, make sure you have reviewed the certification requirements for APBCC, BCC or CC before you begin an application.

The review process is very thorough and your application will be reviewed by highly-skilled, veteran reviewers. As you prepare your application, our administrative staff will be glad to assist you by answering general, high-level questions about the application process but is unable to review or provide guidance on specific individual circumstances.

Hospice and Palliative Care Specialty Certification (APBCC-HPC)

If you would like to apply for the APBCC-HPC specialty certification, please follow these steps:
  • For new candidates, begin an APBCC application. There will be a section (towards the end) for you to complete.
  • For current Credentialed Chaplains (CC), send an email to certification@spiritualcareassociation.org with APBCC-HPC in the subject line. Include documentation of one additional unit of CPE (or 400 clinical training ours), documentation of 45 hours of Hospice/PC training, and documentation of 2,000 work hours in Hospice/PC service within the last 3 years.
  • For current Board Certified Chaplains, (BCC), send an email to certification@spiritualcareassociation.org with APBCC-HPC in the subject line. Include documentation of 45 hours of Hospice/PC training, and documentation of 2,000 work hours in Hospice/PC service within the last 3 years.
